As official Carl Nielsen artist with the Odense Symphony Orchestra in 2015 it is one of Harald Haugaard’s tasks to draw the attention to the Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s musical roots. One of the results so far is the creating og the Carl Nielsen Folk Band which includes four musicians from the Orchestra and the Helene Blum & Harald Haugaard Band. Last week this great ensemble had it’s first appearance Thursday and Friday night in Odense where the performed some of Nielsen’s songs as well as a bunch of traditional dance tunes. The audience participated the dance, sang a long the songs and put a lot of attention to this “cross-over-band”.
